Band
Band is open to students in grades 9-12th who have experience on an instrument or color guard for marching season. Students can contact the director, Mrs. Crystal Sherd-Chew, in the spring to sign up for the following school year. Band is a graded class that meets each day and also has practice for one week in the summer (band camp) and in the evenings on Mondays during marching season only.
The Constantine Bands serve our community and school at all home football games, every play off game (home and away!) and with supplying the music for our Homecoming Parade, multiple pep assemblies at each of our four school buildings over the years, High School Graduation, and the community Memorial Day Parade and Service, our Constantine High School Falcon Marching Band performs and competes for both the Michigan State Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA) and Scholastic Marching Band (SMB). We often place and receive individual awards for Drumline, Color Guard, and Drum Majors. We also have performed for the MSBOA concert band festivals at the district level receiving Superior and Excellent scores for over 40 years. We have even traveled to state MSBOA festivals. Band students have the opportunity to individually compete at MSBOA also offers Solo/Ensemble competitions. Each year these students bring home multiple Superior and Excellent scores and qualify for state competitions! We have to yearly large concerts in the winter and spring that are free to the community featuring a variety of music. Our current marching band auditioned to perform for the world at Walt Disney World and was accepted for April 2021. The Constantine High School Falcon Marching Band has performed in Disney every four years for over two decades.
