SNOW REMOVAL GUIDELINES

Constantine Public Schools will make every reasonable effort to ensure our sidewalks/parking lots are safe for students, staff, and visitors. CPS will monitor winter weather conditions closely to determine when it will be necessary to remove snow in parking lots and clear walkways.

Guidelines/plans are:

CPS. uses a 1” snow accumulation guideline for plowing/clearing of sidewalks and parking lots. Plowing activities are typically scheduled prior to bus and normal staff/student arrival times. In order to address snow removal throughout the district, members of the grounds and maintenance staff may need to adjust their shifts based on forecasted conditions. At times there could be exceptions (staffing, illness, snowing during school hours, district emergencies, etc.)

Icemelt is applied to the sidewalks, handicapped parking spots, and drop-off areas but not throughout the parking lots.

If events are scheduled after hours and snowfall occur, entrance doors/walkways shall be cleared and/or salted by the janitorial staff.

Plowing and salting of Falcon Dr are the responsibility of the Village of Constantine.
